Please note that bats are best handled with gloves since, like any wild animal (or domestic for that matter), they can bite which may result in tetanus or other serious infections. They should also not be held by the wings due the possibility that they may struggle and damage their wing bones or muscles which would spell certain disaster for a creature that needs to fly to feed.
