• New Bat Species identified in South Africa!

"On Monday 25th October 2004 we had a major breakthrough in the positive finding of a species of Bat that had never been located before in South Africa.

On Monday 25th October 2004 four out of a colony of five Giant Yellow House Bats - Scotophilus nigrita were captured .

They are a very scarce species with only about nine scattered records spread just about all over Africa south of the Sahara."
